I stopped for a cold one at a bar in Honolulu, ended up having a nice converstaion with a couple who, as it turned out, were in-laws of one of my best friends (we verified this via text messages & pictures sent to my friend in PA). The woman was also an attorney with the Veterans Administration and gave me some great information to help my WWII veteran Father. So, speak up, it's always worthwhile!

I always tell my children the best way to meet people is to ask them something about themselves . . . people love to talk about themselves, it's their favorite topic. If you are truly interested in what they have to say, it mostly always leads to an interesting conversation. And all the better if you can remember those little gems about someone, it makes an impression with them when you can recall that info the next time you see that person. Glad you had a great trip . . . I'll have to pick your brain about an itinerary sometime!
