About this Blog.

Do you dream of a simpler time? An easier life? Then this blog is for you. This Back to Basics blog promotes prosperity through simplification.

Behind every decision to have more stands someone whose wallet is gaining weight. We are often told that a purchase will make life better when it actually makes our environment more cluttered, toxic, and complicated.

For instance, we love technology and the advancements that come with each invention. Yet there often exists an element of distrust, doubt or even bondage. Will the software work tomorrow? What if a malicious hacker infiltrates the code? Will I have enough cash to keep the service running?  What if my service provider goes out of business? Am I using this thing right?

This is NOT a rage against the machine. We all need to make a living. Additionally, I fully recognized the engine that generates the very existence of this blog.  I am grateful for all that I have today, simple and complicated.

This IS about using and appreciating what we've already got. It is a venue to remember, discuss, support, and encourage tangible skills and actions for a return to humanity and a reconnection to the natural world.

Since no one becomes richer when we choose less, money talks, and less becomes harder and harder to hear. Not here. Here we disentangle spending from prosperity.

Do not be afraid to post on any topic. Your comments will go through a brief approval process so that I can check for slander, vulgarity or propaganda. Otherwise, I promise to approve all comments. I hope to find disagreements as well as agreements to all future entries. Also, as my math teacher used to say, "show your work."  Let us all understand, and hear, your voice.

And tell your friends. Spread the conversation so that we achieve a balanced mix of opinions. Help to build a community interested in a back-to-basics movement.

But most of all, open your mind and close your wallets. Deprogramming from constant advertising and promotion of political agendas may be a bit painful at first. Let this be a safe zone guarded by forthright and freedom.

So here we go...forward to a future that remembers the past.
